It feels like Saturday was our Plymouth equivalent... 23:09 - Aug 16 with 1049 viewspointofblue

The one which gave confidence to the fans that something was clicking, we outplayed a good side and made them look very ordinary.

The game after we put in our worse performance under McKenna against Cambridge and lost 1-0. Tonight we took a step back, performance wise, but stood firm and picked up the points.

We'll need to play more games like Saturday and less like tonight if we're to go up. But grinding out results is a good sign of success, as long as we don't become overly reliant on doing so.

Disagree

More teams in league 1 play like Burton. We've struggled to beat them compared to others.

If a side tries to play football against us.. we will win.
If a team tries to play league 1 football... we need to show we can win. It doesn't need to be pretty.

Next is to show we can beat the sides in the top 6.

Im not convinced the fans are that confident at all, I suspect the first setback we hit, and there will be one its just the nature of the game, there will be an almighty wobble and 10 pagers aplenty on here.(just remember the reaction to the papa johns game)

just need to keep looking at the bigger picture, an away win, more points in the bag in tricky conditions with a midweek fixture, no-ones going to even remember the first 45mins come April next year.

Currently on course for 81 goals and 115 points. If we don't maintain this, the toys will be out of the pram.

I bet that's the best Burton have played this season. And we started with several back up players in, Aluko, Leigh and Jackson. I'm delighted that we managed to be on the right side of a tough battle, away from home. This time last year we were losing such matches.
It's wins like that, bit scruffy, bit meh. That keep momentum and stick points on the board. And points are all that matters.
Don't think anyone in the division has fully "clicked" yet, just four games in. So it's pleasing to take advantage and be top of the pile. Even though we haven't got to our most fluent best yet.
The 3-0's are great when they happen, But they aren not the norm. I dare say we'll have plenty of tough, grinding results. And every now and the, turn someone over 3 or 4.
TBH, I felt just as pleased with tonights result, as Saturday's, after watching the first half and having my nerves shredded throughout.
Huge result for me. We've just won three on the spin. And sit top of the league. I just hope KM bans our players from using Social Media, altogether. Seems, no matter what they do, someone, somewhere, will just have a little gripe about something or someone.
Enjoy it mate. We're top, top, toppa the league.

That is no doubt correct. It's not about one match giving us confidence IMO, it's a run of results with performances all mixed up - the controlled wins like Saturday, gritty ones like tonight, and a few lucky ones with last minute goals. The sides that started like that last season were the ones best placed to finish the season well.

We certainly did that in 2014-15 and both players and fans took confidence from that, and then we stepped it up in November and December. Hints of it in the starts in 17-18 and 19-20 but we didn't carry either of those on.

We have optimism, not confidence.

Confidence will come when Lapado clicks.
