Zonal. Problem was the ball literally fell in the worse place it could have done. Its one of those that 9 times out of 10 in league 1, Those balls don't find those areas. That's how I saw it anyway.

Thought their first was offside, as did Wolfie. Have the rules changed with regard to players in offside positions in front of the keeper, effectively interfering with play? Or did the linesman/assistant referee simply not spot what was admittedly a tight decision? |  | | |

It is a mixture of zonal and man to man, considering prior to this game Town conceded only 2 goals, 1 at home and 1 away and scoring 10 goals, I don't feel it is something we need to worry about too much. I also feel we should credit Barnsley for closing down the space and doing a great job protecting their keeper, who did not have a great deal to do in the second half. They managed to keep play in the middle of the pitch and stopped us playing in their half, we did not threaten their goal enough in the second half and they comfortably dealt with attack. It is a long season and should not get too upset with 2nd place after 6 games. |  | | |

I can live with their first to some degree because he just found that yard and it wasn't from a set piece.....but the second I would be going crazy about if I was KM, pause the corner as the ball comes half way over, who the hell has hold of this guy? Nobody within five yards of him, totally free header...it;s basic training ground stuff, you hold your man..
If it's zonal frimmers then ffs it needs looking at, simple.. | | | |

Don't think that's correct re the second. Jackson follows his man, and as McKenna says, the ball actually falls deep to the blocker who isn't even facing the goal when it's delivered. He's backing in to prevent Jackson following his attacker & actually looks surprised to turn and see the ball swinging into him in space.

I thought Jackson lost Styles at first. But he tracks his man as do our other players and it was the completely stationary Styles who was then the free man.
One of the best-worked corners I’ve seen even before the stunning finish. Although probably a lucky one if the real intention all along was for Styles just to block defenders and help another Barnsley player lose their marker. |  |

It'll be discussed no doubt. But we've not conceded many from crosses for the zonal marking to be seen as a constant failure. Not quite sure what happened with that one tho. | |
