If you fancy a giggle… 10:23 - Sep 9 with 1510 views | Seablu | The EFL tribute to the Queen thread in the News Comments zoo is shaping up nicely. ‘Joyous blue’ is threatening to give ‘pg888’ a good kicking at the next home game. I always feel a tad dirty after dipping my toe in over there, but it’s a fascinating insight into the minds of pond life in its purest form.

Trncbluearmy has already floated over, but was too shy to offer a meet and greet by the Sir Alf statue.

Just as with the political spectrum, when it comes to the spectrum of views on the monarchy in general and Queen Elizabeth II in particular, there are rude people and idiots allll the way along it... Hopefully I can point that out without having fallen into the same trap myself.

Might have to change his user name I guess. Am sure it's what Lizzie would have wanted.

They're not very joyous, are they?
If you fancy a giggle… on 11:21 - Sep 9 with 977 views | Swansea_Blue | Note to Gav - looks like you need to develop an automatic spell corrector for the News pages. And more flags - you definitely need to run a programme that adds more flags. It's very amusing. I suspect we'll have a bit of argie bargie at the weekend if games go ahead and there are silences. Most will be observed impeccably, I'm sure. But there are always some idiots around who won't show respect, and then there are also people around with anger management issues who'll react to anyone not showing respect.

I think a long silence (2 minutes) will be about right. And anyone who can’t be quiet for that is an idiot. Having said that, if this starts becoming a grieving/respect competition over the next week or two then there may well be a backlash. And I have no problem with people, players or clubs being allowed to stay silent rather than be forced to regurgitate some platitude or other to keep others happy/stop them climbing up onto their highest imaginary horse. Mourning isn’t a public display. Just because it can be in the modern online world.

I suspect there's be a bit of 'fun' at Welsh club games. There's been a creep of insidious unionism element into some crowds. A few prominent union jacks ulster unionist flags, seemingly aimed at winding up the Welsh Nats (who respond as intended). It's not a big thing, but I've seen a couple of minor flash points since crowds returned after covid. I can just imagine someone waving a flag with ulster references on it and starting to sing the national anthem during a silence and it going down like a bucket of cold sick. Everyone seems a bit more wired than they were before covid for some reason.
