LET'S ALL LAUGH AT THE TORIES 18:34 - Sep 29 with 1124 views | thebooks | I am loving this map based on today's Lab 33 point lead: - No Tories in Scotland - No Tories in London - Red wall? 3 seats in the whole of the north - Suffolk a red wall (even Coffey voted out) Won't happen, but still...

| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

They've been in office (including in coalition*) in the Scottish Parliament for a fair while. Which is likely to erode their popularity somewhat. Plus there have been some splits and scandals. Also, the SNP are still slowly coming down from the exceptional high of 2015, when they took all but three of the 59 Scottish seats (they won just six in 2010, a total only previously exceeded in the two elections of 1974). * Edit: Correction, it was a minority government. Glasgow and Edinburgh began going back to Lab in 2017; I guess they're not so popular in the big Scottish cities as they're not seen as liberal/radical enough? (Also LOL at Sunak retaining one of three Northern Tory seats. And Truss surviving the wipeout.)

The SNP have been in Coalition in the Scottish Parliament before, and are currently. The SNP are 1 short of a Majority and the Green Party are supporting them in a Confidence and Supply arrangement, with 2 of the 7 Green MSPs holding Ministerial positions.
