Brew some of my all time favourite beers - Cornish Knocker and Betty Stogs to name a couple. Hope a buyer can be found and it gets saved.

That’s a massive shame, fingers crossed - maybe one of the bigger breweries will come in for them - that’s not always great news though.

Sad news as their beers were certainly prominent in Cornwall. A few of the more established names have gone out of business in the past year and sadly more will follow when the energy bills begin to bite. Kelham Island in Sheffield was saved this week from a similar fate.

Junior recently got me a free bottle of this after working at the Aldeburgh food festival and very nice it was too. But at £3.50 a bottle not sure I would buy many.

They do a great range though...based at Ixworth.

Edit....The once a month drive through for draught beers is more affordable though if you are near...

I know someone who knows the son of the owner, he’s an international competition surfer and board shaper.

Cornwall is home to a number of decent beers, hopefully Skinners find a way through this.

Soon as I saw the word Cornish I thought of Proper Job. One of my favourite beers. Thankfully not that but sad to see a small brewery in trouble.

Artefact are quality, had a few of their beers at different food festival type places. And £3.50 a bottle really isn't that expensive if you're familiar with the craft beer scene. These beers are only made in small batches & so they have to charge more than your bog standard lager or real ale to cover their costs.

I do enjoy a nice chilled Proper Job… but if you’ve never had any of Skinners’ fine beers, I would put them above St Austell, personally!

I've only had them on draft at those festivals & they've always been decent. Shame you missed out on the freebies!

A Proper Job in a cornish pub looking out to sea is difficult to beat.

No wonder they are in administration if they keep giving it away free!

It's why the country is in such a mess, all the free handouts to poor people (and nothing to do with massive tax cuts for the rich so there isn't any money for public spending).

Lushingtons & Porthleven I probably would, never got to grips with Betty Stoggs for some reason (fnar fnar), but Tribute kept & served properly (and it suffers like alot of nationwide beer brands because it rarely ever is) is far better.

I think people are probably more surprised as Skinners seemed to be not the kind of micro brewery on thin margins you would think are most at risk currently, they had good distribution and volume, and its volume which is the key, but Ill keep saying it use them or lose them.

at least in better news Kelham Island has been saved...for now

They taste even better in the correct glass.

I have a skinners glass, and a doom bar glass. My Tribute glass is sadly no more.
