This should be sent to every UK tax payer
https://kamikwasi.tax/

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

They should both be jailed for the damage they have done to the UK.

The people should be massing in every town and city in the UK demanding a general election.

Truly impaired.

A brilliant infographic.

A Venezuelan friend warned me against socialism and how, if Corbyn were to be elected, the same would happen to the UK as has happened to his own country. I didn't believe that (even if his policies were anything like as extreme as Venezuela's and I don't believe they were) it would be possible to send the UK economy into the sort of freefall that Venezuela's is in.

Truss and co are making wonder whether it might be possible after all.

As terrifying as the cost of living crisis already was this policy is exacerbating it incredibly. I can only see there being public disorder this winter. Terrifying times.

You tend to keep yourself well-informed.

In your opinion do you think the majority of their voters/supporters have woken up to what's been going on or do you reckon many are still blaming Covid and Ukraine and the EU and the cat and the weather and anything and everything.

That's not to suggest none of those things have had a negative influence, of course they have. Especially the cat.

But I honestly can think of three people I know well off the top of my head who, if asked, wouldn't have it and would believe that few of the problems the country are facing are the fault of this government.

I know the question isn't directed to me but from my own experiences I know several typical Tories who are at least questioning things. I can't bring myself to ask the dyed in the wool ones I know where their thoughts are.

One can consider themselves affiliated to a set of ideals but they shouldn't feel tied to a party no matter what.

But yes, there seems to be a number who are desperate to stand by their lot.

Whether that's entirely misplaced loyalty to their party or stubbornness because of an underlying sense of responsibility and/or denial I don't know.

Yep and more. It’s a shame treason doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore, as there have been quite a few politicians, donors and complicit client journalists who have acted against the UK lately.

Here in my old people community they woke up when they heard that private pension funds might collapse.
They were relieved when they heard that the Bank of England reacted and fixed the short-term problem
When they heard that this help will cease soon they were put on high alert.
If Truss and her Govt. allow these pension funds to collapse or come near to collapse then Truss is Toast.
"I worked all my life and paid into a pension and the Govt. screwed me over."
Older people generally vote Conservative - not if their pensions get stiffed.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Leave the cat out of it! Larry is the only one in No 10 with any brains.

Two of my uber tory chums still won’t hear a word said against them - your last paragraph. Everything is somebody else’s fault. I can only poke them with sticks for the fun of it. A third one, who I’m seeing for a beer next Thursday, is a conspiracy theorist, carries the Satanic bible, tarot cards, massive brexiteer, looks and is a bit mad so there’s no point in asking.

So a big part of the problem is that she will u-turn to become the heroine who saved their funds while they forget that it was her that made the mess in the first place.

Until very recently the bookies had the Tories as favourites to win most seats. Their odds are just a reflection of the weight of money but does make me wonder if smarter money than mine knew something I didn't.

The fact it's taken a massive crisis for these odds to move is worrying. We could be in a position where either the economy absolutely tanks or it improves and voters swing back that way. Replace Truss with Sunak and have him fix the economy and who knows? It seems lost on a lot of people that the Tories cause the problems. Some of their voters remind me of religious people. When things go wrong, it is the devil (Labour). When things go right it is God (Tories).

The Tories deliberately take a knife and jab the UK with it creating a deep wound. Then they will buy a plaster for £300,000 from a mate's offshore company and some of their voters give them credit. It's strange.

I do also think there are wider social issues at play but i've touched on this before and been told i'm 100% wrong so who knows?

Truly impaired.

I agree. Barely a week after the mini budget, Truss should be arrested and convicted immediately and sent to jail for fourty years.

To be fair, it is difficult to tell whether in time, giving the richest people £45Billion in tax breaks might help the poorest through the cost-of-living crisis.

You are posting as if the rich don't need this help far more than the poor and vulnerable.

Probably not but that wasn’t the idea behind it. The 37 billion in government support should help those most in need though although they could naturally always do with more such as it is to be poor.

I check in to these types of threads every now and then. Genuine question to the forum without wishing to be provocative, do many on here have super wealthy friends or acquaintances and by that I mean millionaires? There seems to be a lot of stereotyping and stigmatising of affluent people.

“Probably not but that wasn’t the idea behind it. ”

No, the idea was a hair brained scheme to add to our record debt in order to fund a hugely expensive tax cut for a tiny number of people. So small that it will have negligible impact in terms of economic stimulus. Economists warned how the markets would react yet Truss (im loathe to call them a government as there’s little evidence) went ahead anyway. Even since harming Stirling and crashing UK Gilts her reaction is to double down.

What’s your take on it?
