I think the biggest compliment you can give to our coaching team is how well these players have done this season. 3 players who were probably considered disappointing last season have shown that they are/can be key players for us.

Not only that, but our coaching team appear to be turning Evans from a league 1 midfielder to someone who could hold his own in the Championship. He's definitely fitter this season and he's added some much needed stamina to his game along with a bit of extra steel. |  |

Yeah Evans was mostly anonymous in a lot of games last season. Him and Burgess were being pushed by fans as players to leave in the summer.
It's weird, as Paul Cook got the best out of him in the Championship, yet couldn't do so in this league. | |

As much as anything, it shows what happens to individual players when the manager and coaches make a team more balanced and better-functioning as a whole.
The players now know their roles and can focus on their own strengths when they’re not covering for other weaknesses /gaps around the team e.g. at LB/LWB or the advanced central midfield positions that didn’t have the same energy or bite last year, both on and off the ball.
Players can now just get on with their job. |  |
