Watching the news this morning as they ask people round the country and people are still saying Johnson.
Absolutely incredible!!
If he gets back in we really DO deserve all we get.

People actually think it’s a good idea to elect this man as Prime Minister? At any level this is absolutely nuts.

Before you get to his eye watering, almost limitless incompetence, the bloke is under investigation for telling lies the HoC. That alone should be enough to tell him to do one.

Mind you, it’s good to see that he’s thrown himself into working night and day for his constituents since leaving No 10. Presumably from his sun bed on his three luxury holidays.

The question is that as an ex PM is paid £113k of yours and my money annually for the rest of their lives (Truss must literally be laughing all the way to the bank. Astonishing return for 44 days ……work), would Johnson be paid that twice over if his own moronic party gives him the job again?

Doesn't everyone take holidays like that?

I had to stop watching the interviews with the people of Uxbridge after the 3rd said "he'd got us out of Brexit" and others said he got things done.

Let's see what he can be "credited" with;-
Brexit lies
Lying to parliament
Lying to the Queen
Partying while the Queen grieved alone
Chumocracy - taking an already fragile system undermiing by corruption and really finding it for all his worth (covid loans, contracts)
Knowing and ignoring a sex pest's record, then promoting said sex pestl
Holidaying twice whilst supposedly "caretaking" govt for successor
Serially unfaithful to wives and fathering numerous children (allegedly)

There was a massive rebellion within his own party as it became clear the electorate had turned against him

I don't know, maybe the people of Uxbridge were actually trolling the Tories??? But I doubt it.

Leaving aside everything else:

If you teach a narcissistic sociopath that there are consequences for their actions, it's a very bad idea to completely reverse those consequences and enable them again within three months. Imagine what licence that gives them!

We're in Trump "I could walk down Broadway and shoot someone in the face and they would still vote for me" territory, here.

He has a good PR team getting him on the news but the reality is that he doesn't have anywhere near enough backers to get to 100. He will also have all of the early declared so there isn't that many more to come on board.

Rishi Sunak on 88 MPs
Boris Johnson on 51 MPs
Penny Mordaunt on 22 MPs

Two of Johnson's closest friends and allies are also talking him out of running.

edit:
LATEST Totals from publicly-declared backers:
Rishi 102
Boris 55
Penny 22

Surely if it was going to be a Coronation Procession for Sunak he would be over 100 by now? EDIT: He does now.

Don't forget what Boris did to Rory Stewart etc. Deselected by text. There may be quite a few former Piffle Eaters who have failed He Who Shall Not Be Blamed during the last three months, whose arms are tingling as his return nears, and who are preparing to throw themselves back into whimpering subservience.

It's going to be a straightforward "In/Out Referendum" for Tory Backbenchers. If they don't "Back Boris" now, and he does get back in, then he will finish them. Equally there has been a lot of collateral damage within the senior ranks this year, and there are going to be plenty of jobs available to those who prove themselves loyal.

Just got the notification through: Priti Patel backs Boris Johnson. The Dark Mark burns deep.

'Described by the Dominican Today news website as a “refuge for millionaires and celebrities”, it is located in the historic sugar mill town of La Romano.'

'La Romana has been a one-company town since the South Puerto Rico Sugar Company built the mammoth Central Romana mill in 1917.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Romana%2C_Dominican_Republic

I suppose we can be at least grateful that he is taking his holidays in oligarchic refuges that were established post slavery...
