Moreover, Port Vale have done what Barcelona, Real, AC Milan, Inter, Roma, Lazio, St Etienne couldn't do. They are the only club to beat us at Portman Road in the European competition.

He did. He also apologised to all Town fans who endured that.

My first away game.

Loved it so much I moved to Stoke on Trent three and a half years later.

True story.

Did all the games home and away against the Italian teams that season and was gutted when we got knocked out by an English team.

with a NY hangover too, it was a shocker!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Bournemouth away was a good one as well

Yes I was at both. I remember the conga up and down the terraces. I’ve forgotten what happened at Bournemouth, apart from lots of police making a fuss. Wasn’t there a punch up? I remember there being mention of it in the following day’s Sunday newspaper.

Luther Blissett was getting a lot of stick. He then completed his hat-trick at our end and gave some back. Town fans reacted badly. The police moved in along with police dogs and it all got a bit unpleasant with several people removed.

Nothing compared to when Leeds had their promotion party a few weeks later mind.
