Grounds / stands in which you've watched a game 05:47 - Oct 29 with 1332 viewsPendejo

At Charlton I will complete the collection of stands from which I have watched games at The Valley, mainly due to having Charlton supporting family.

There's a post below about watching a game at Naaridge from River End which got me thinking of what grounds I had seen games from different stands. Ok so away fans locations may well have changed over the years, but here goes...

Charlton (tomorrow) - 4
Colchester - Layer Road - 4
Arsenal - Highbury 3
Aston Villa - 3
Manchester City - Maine Rd - 3
Crystal Palace (& Charlton, Wimbledon) - 3
Leeds - 3
Manchester United - 3
Naaaridge - 3

Numerous 2s because of moved away sections, and I'm sure others will have record up more 4s and 3s, but hey, what else you gonna think about when you wake up ridiculously early on match day, especially when it's the closest away game this season

Of course at PR it's 4

Edit - due to their late 80s exile from The Valley I have watched Charlton home games from 6 (7 tomorrow) different stands

Norwich 4
Fulham 4
Filbert St, Leicester 4
Selhurst Park 4
Old Den 4 (I’m not mad - worked in Peckham for two years and would sometimes take in a game)
Dartford 4
Boleyn Ground WHU 4
Old White Hart Lane 3
Highbury 3
Gillingham 3
Bristol City 3
Torquay 3
Exeter 3
Charlton 3

PR 4 - I’ve sat/stood in every part of it bar the upper tier of North Stand

The Manor ground only had 5 stands didn't it? Plus an open terrace.

I can claim 6 places at Roots Hall. Not all of them watching Town, but old North Bank & South Bank open terrace, covered West bank (I think a rare stand with a double barrelled roof), East Stand (I was given a player's season ticket by his estranged wife, who cut my hair. she was quite a looker, too) , paddock in front of east stand plus the directors' box (where I was introduced to Clare Grogan & Trevor Bailey).

I did apply a little sleepy artistic license.

Yeah it was the sort of the ground that’ll never be seen again. I think there was a decent sized open terrace one end but there was also some weird sort of bits and bobs stands in corners. I think including the open terrace it would be more than 5/

Good they’ve compensated for having too many stands at the Manor by having one fewer at the Kassam.

Apart from us, I think I’ve only ever been in every stand at Watford and Swansea. I didn’t even manage it at Wrexham and Chester, even though I lived up there for years and regularly went when we weren’t away in the NW or midlands.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I've done all four at Forest. The most memorable was probably being the only person in the Trent End to give David Johnson a standing ovation after he got subbed off early in his first season there. Everyone else was chanting 'what a waste of money'. While I beat a hasty retreat to the bar, I told anyone who'd listen that they'd thank us for him sooner rather than later - one of the few times one of my predictions came right. Also saw Stuart Pearce's return there with Man City, and a dismal Town vs Forest reserves game, made only slightly more palatable by the bottle of white lightning we smuggled in.
