"It is (I believe) a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped - so when the puppy is at the vets being chipped, why isn't a DNA sample taken and added to a database? Then when this sort of thing happens, a local vet takes a sample and runs it against the database to identify the specific animal and therefore find the offending owner. Then issue a large fine, part of which covers the costs of the testing by the vet.

Oh, and then make sure the owners are named & shamed publicly."

Amazing.

I am reasonably confident that the bring back hanging comment was a joke.

Did make me smile.

Sad thing is, my local area facebook page regularly has comments about dog poo, especially dog poo in bags.

That is when they are not moaning about cyclists, speeding drivers and motorbike's exhausts.

Funniest one was "cone gate" when someone left some cones in the road (to protect a parking space) and people genuinely wanted the police to investigate this heinous crime.

Dog poo, parking and bonfires are the staples of village facebook pages.

For a brief period, which is just about ending, fireworks take over.

Rarely does any of it make it to the local news outlet though.

I believe Bully is/was in North Somerset....

Not in this county.

And Bully is a civilised chap. I don't think he would be the kind of guy to squeeze out a big curly one in Morrisons foyer.

Waitrose, maybe. But not Morrisons

Speaking about dog poo - why do some owners go to the trouble of putting it in a small plastic bag only to then leave it on the ground or hanging a tree? Seems odd to me.

Agree, are they supposed to be alternative Christmas decorations?

At least it was a dog. Unlike whoever was using my parking space as a toilet a few months ago (animals don't use and discard bogpaper).

What I don't get is why they felt the need to put the 'slippy floor' thing over it, rather than just picking it up and binning it? Surely that would have taken longer to find and sort than just grabbing a produce bag from the fruit and veg aisle?

How long since you last bought vegetables at a supermarket? They all did away with plastic produce bags ages ago.
