Player/club requests 13:51 - Apr 3 with 1376 viewsJDAndCoke

Wondered if anyone has any previous experience in contacting the club or previous players for messages from players, signature requests, charitable donations etc.

I'm on the hunt for this kind of thing and wondered if anyone has any helpful ideas, tips or advice they can share on the best way forwards. Anyone you've found particularly helpful at the club, method of contact etc.

Any ideas/info would be appreciated.

My son wrote a letter to David mcgoldrick and got a written letter back from him (obviously a few years ago)

Last season my other son wrote to maculaly Bonne and got a signed program back.

I wrote to Jim Magilton when I was 9 and got a letter back from his secretary and a programme which was signed by the first-team squad.

My kids wrote a good luck letter to Mick McCarthy and never got a response. Might try again with a note to Sir Kieran.

I guess the main office will deal with this sort of stuff.

Our club wrote to <cough>Norwich</cough> recently and they sent us a football signed by the first team to auction of and raise money.

I assume the reason will dictate the response...obviously countless individual pleas for contact can't go on forever and they have to draw a line somewhere.

There is something on the website re donations and they only give tickets. They are now not allowed to do signed shirts etc - I managed to get one for the Bracknell chairman as a thanks but only because I pestered (and know people internally!). Have a look at the website as there is a section

I'm curious, what do you mean by 'they're not allowed to do signed shirts'?

Which bit of the site is this on? Had a quick look and couldn't see what you describe.

Probably in a postal sack in Lee O'Neill's garage. I've heard he spends every other weekend in there trying to clear his backlog of Evans' homework but even a year after leaving the club he's still working like a dog.

My boy tweeted Jim Magilton to see if he would phone me on my 50th and wish me happy birthday - and he did.

When my mate Dalai Farmer died I had communications with Clegg about him but I can’t remember why, maybe a photo of him or something. Anyway after a few email exchanges I emailed him again. I was bemused and frustrated that the TV screens in the upper north side bars were so low that unless you were at the front you couldn’t see them. I suggested they should be raised so everyone could see them and ended with - it’s what Dalai would have wanted.

Next game they had all been raised!
