I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Best of luck to them. My niece will be on the picket line for the second day running.

Mrs Badger has baked cakes for me to take to the picket line at [redacted] today.

As a unison member(frankly, I'm a little annoyed at how half-arsed the local branch have been about it. They only started canvassing voting a week before the close of ballot), we don't have a local mandate for strike action but a lot of us *are* unofficially working to rule and bringing snacks and hot drinks out to our RCN colleagues on breaks and days off.

The togetherness across professional disciplines as well, has been astonishing, frankly

Forgive my ignorance but what does it actually mean when a nurse goes on strike? Does it mean that they don’t report onto their wards etc on that particular day? Or they do urgent patient care but no paperwork?

/edited for extra link

Critical care, paediatric areas and ED fully covered. 'Night cover' in other inpatient areas(ironically, 'night cover' will mean that some areas are better staff on these days).

Outpatient and 'specialist' nursing services not in at all.

My daughter is a nurse who 'can't strike' but I have offered to take her strikes days so I could stand on the picket line in her place
