Cresswell 11:18 - Jan 25 with 1391 viewsFrimleyBlue

Casting minds back. Can anyone remember what he was like at the beginning of his town era and if he struggled with crosses to the back post..

Davis let's face it, is another Cresswell. His corners are spot on. He's linking up better each game. Defensively improving. But even last night for Morcambes only effort, Davis missed a cross at the far post.

He can't improve his height. And extra spring is something that will take time to grow.. so just intrigued to know if it was something Creswell struggled with but contained as time went on. Or if its still even now a weak point in his game.

I remeber him him as a flying full back. Creswell always had a wand off a left peg. I do recall his crossing getting better all the time. I used to love him linking with Didz

If that's one of Davis' main responsibilities I'm amazed. He's short. Job for a CB innit.

I said to my mate he'd play for England after the first time I saw him

I took a manure (armchair) supporting mate along to PR early in Cresswell’s career here and he was very impressed with his performance that afternoon although we lost the game.
I remember saying to him in the pub after that I thought he could possibly go on to be an international and that he would move on to a much higher level in a few seasons.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I remember not being overly impressed initially. But he just got better and better as his time went on. Mr consistent with a wand left foot. Didn’t think we could replace him but then Mings came along! We’ve had some food left backs. Davis could be better from whee and how he has started than Cresswell.

I loved him, it’s sad to see the pelters he gets from Spammers fans these days I’m pretty certain there are more culpable players.

Cresswell looked a ‘proper’ full back right from the start. He could get caught out at first, wasn’t the biggest and took time to become the player West Ham signed but there was never any doubt he’d make the top level for me.

Good passer, good shot on him, brave, could tackle, got up and down the pitch and developed great positional sense. Good team player and clearly popular. I’m glad he’s had a good career. I think he shoul£ have played for England.
