I’ve seen people criticising Jackson for missing the (hard to make on his wrong foot) shot, but my first thought also was that he may have been better to try and square it. Hirst was unmarked 10 yards out.
Our decision making isn’t the best. Nor is our finishing. These are all individual quality issues, so the criticisms of McKenna recently seem unfair. Up to the point of ballsing it up, we’re normally very good! |  |

Same as my original reply tho. If he did pull it back. The chances are he gets tackled anyway. If he tries to play it across to hirst it's either gonna be a very lucky nutmeg to do so or more likely just bounce away for either a corner or throw in. | |

Possibly. They weren’t identical situation, so yeah he would have had a lot to do to set up Hirst. Whether or not that was more likely to produce something is hard to tell. The shot was a huge long shot from there on his wrong foot. That’s pretty certain. | |

The intention of this post wasn't to bash Jackson. I thought he had a great game. I was just struck by his similar the attacks were, but with different outcomes. Some might say luck, some might say decision making.
I'm actually cool with Jackson taking on the shot, I'd have preferred he went across the keeper though, rather than near post. If he's gone to the keepers left and he pushed it away the same way, Hirst had a tap in. | |
