I thought he would. But not now. We are not playing well enough.
I'd love to be wrong, I just don't see it. Our style of play is too easily stifled by a low block for us to rack up the type of winning run I think we will need.

No. I keep saying it but I think this season is too similar to Sunderland's in 2020/2021. Too many draws will ulimately cost us.
Ever since the Charlton black comedy we've been hearing number of 'nice' words from McKenna, Walton, Morsy, most recently Burgess about long way to go, we'll learn from this or that blah blah blah.
Nothing changes.

I believed we would finish top one. I thought the way in which we played, the quality of players and options we had would be too much for the rest. I was wrong. Teams know how to neutralise us and while we have good players for this pitiful level we are short in key areas.

I think we're some way behind the top 2 and can't really see anyone outside the top 6 forcing their way into the playoffs. The playoffs are a lottery so I'd say we have a 1 in 4 chance. If I was daft enough to bet on it I'd go for Plymouth, Wednesday and Derby. Warne is probably the most effective manager in the top 6,not that I'd want to watch one of his teams

6 weeks ago, I’d have laughed at this question as I’d have had no doubt he’d get the job done whether that was automatic or through the Play Offs. I look at the top 2, we might not like admitting it, but they are both consistently better than us and I really can’t see either of them imploding. Also, the momentum Derby are building up makes them a serious threat, I’m starting to get doubts whether we can get over the line this season.
