BLUE LIGHTS on 19:59 - Mar 28 with 1772 views | NthQldITFC | Cool. I've just finished watching Love/Hate, which I thought was great, on ITV hub. I need some more Irish telly, to be sure.

BLUE LIGHTS on 11:47 - Mar 31 with 1618 views | BarcaBlue | Thanks for the heads up, finished it last night and very enjoyable. Kind of Happy Valley meets Line Of Duty but with Belfast and The Troubles as a backdrop. Couple of standout performances, well written on the whole but the ending was a bit wishy-washy in my view.

Usually enjoy crime dramas, but read the blurb & it sounded tedious, so swerved it. Another one to avoid which I watched the first ep.of last night on 'Drama' channel - 'Annika', from 2021. Not like Nicola Walker to accept a part in a poor one, but this was awful, in particular its dreadful schtick of having her speak directly to camera as if addressing you, the audience. Outside of Shakespeare, this is embarrassing, never works.

Nicola Walker has been playing the character since 2013. It started on Radio 4. The breaking of the forth wall is consistent with the Radio show, you can download Annika Stranded from BBC app. Her character is very much established by talking to the audience, rather than, stuff that happens. I quite liked how they kept that in the TV series, keeps it different, and consistent with the Radio character.

Had no idea it was a transfer from R4, & I listen to a lot on there. Just doesn't work for me on TV but I hate it generally as a method anyway, even on 'Lovejoy', much as I love that series otherwise ('Drama' are repeating it weekday early mornings, for those that are up at the ungodly hours of 01.30 - 03.00 approx or an hour later on Drama +1 (fv60)).

You do with your wisdom illuminate me fair maid, forsooth. For ere I knew not that the Bard spaketh direct to camera, in truth.

First, and second series of 'Kin' airing on RTE now, will help fill the 'love hate' void. Very good.
