Best Chinese Restaurant in town? 12:14 - Apr 28 with 2440 views | le2blue | Heading into Ipswich tonight for some pre-match beers and a meal, not been in town for a night out in years having moved away...is Trongs still the best Chinese restaurant option? Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
Best Chinese Restaurant in town? on 12:20 - Apr 28 with 2394 views | Hciwspi | Trongs is still the best but you’ll do well to get a table at such short notice. I can recommend Mr Wings next to the Regent.

Best Chinese Restaurant in town? on 12:22 - Apr 28 with 2370 views | portmanking | Yeah, good luck getting a table at Trongs! Kwan Thai is still a solid punt, but as others have said Mr Wings is still pretty good all-you-can-eat fare.
Best Chinese Restaurant in town? on 12:24 - Apr 28 with 2355 views | geg1992 | Trongs still the best but I went to 92 Noodle bar recently which was very good and very reasonably priced. Mr Wings is good value for money but the other 2 I mentioned are better in terms of quality and flavour. Kwan Thai and Takayama are great Asian alternatives. [Post edited 28 Apr 2023 12:24]

I'm not a fan of Trongs, find it overrated given the hyperbole.

Best Chinese Restaurant in town? on 14:10 - Apr 28 with 2013 views | Lord_Lucan | Trongs but all western Chinese food tastes the same anyway. Go to Kwan Thai - Top notch. Go for the weeping tiger. TBH, thinking about it I would put Mizzu above Trongs and you’ll save yourself £30 a head. [Post edited 28 Apr 2023 14:12]

God, I'd forgotten about the Weeping Tiger dish. If you're a steak fan you won't regret it. Takayama on Fore Street is another great shout if you're after authenticity over western flavours.

:) 1996-97, It's a classic, isn't it. I bought Score! when it came out, I still have a couple of his mags along with a few of Dribble. Loved how he made them pocket-size, perfect to take to the game. I got this one made up into an A1-size print on my wall. Often think BA should use some of the old fanzine designs for their flags, imagine TWTD classic covers all around the north stand and lower west.

Yep, I was going to suggest East Ocean as well.
Best Chinese Restaurant in town? on 21:29 - Apr 28 with 1653 views | DinnernotTea | Go to Takayama it's on St. Nicholas Street opposite Kwan Thai. It's Korean/Japanese and I'd say it's the best restaurant in Ipswich.

Takayama now next door to Bar 21 having moved from Fore Street this month. Outrageous food.
