Not as much as Stockport’s earlier. Amazing that having a shot rather than looking for cheap penalties worked for Everton though.

That was the one where Wimbledon let in a soft goal or three including the keeper diving over the ball as it slowly rolled in. Nothing dodgy there.

Was it the day we were involved and the Blades went down?

Begovic warming up apparently. Could be another ex Town keeper story to end the day?

From memory yes, watched (or listened, can't remember) in The Royal Oak of all places.

Yep. Mark Stein’s finest our for us - while playing for Chelsea. I heard we’d survived driving home from work on the South Circular and nearly crashed the car. [Post edited 28 May 2023 18:08]

Felixstowe Rd? Is that pub still there? The Haven? Literally have no idea but my guess is both closed.

Royal Oak is now a drop in centre and community cafe Haven - where I spent a bit of time - transformed itself into a gastro pub and is now I believe a retirement home. The Haven very oddly sold milk on draught once.

No word of a lie but I have old friends (members of a local Ipswich band) who did a concept album about the Royal Oak and it's regulars... Truly hilarious and really very good musically ...this would be early 90's..as well as that I remember stories of an ex work colleague driving his mini suzuki ? council van through the double doors into the bar and picking up a pint. I think it's now or last I heard a "drop in cafe" centre thingy now ?

Turning Point used it as a hub up until Covid. Since then, Emmaus have been using it as a cafe/shop.

Big old boozer. Wasn’t one of the particularly rough ones over there from memory though, I think I went in a couple of times in the early 2000s. Can’t imagine it a Gastro pub!

I really only go to the north Suffolk coast or Portman Road when I am back now. Would be so curious to know what East Ipswich pubs are left!

All in all about the same size as The Racecourse, maybe a bit bigger, not as big as The Hind though. I think the gastro guys name was Ben, nice bloke who liked his old classic cars, think he was a friend of Scotty I had a meal in their once and it was very good, never gonna be a success though.

Very very few! The Golf and Hind are still going. Gardeners arms re-opened. You've got the Thrasher and the Raven over Ravenswood that I never count for some reason. Railway I think is closed again, Lattice Barn is closing or already closed (may be a stretch to Lattice Barn is East)
