As we all look forward to next season I was looking back on some highlights of the last 12 months yesterday. There's a lot of obvious ones, especially in that final 1/3 of the season and the crazy run we went on through which on paper looked like some tough games. We made a lot of them look easy, but one of the underrated moments for me was this..
Broadhead's late penalty in front of the North Stand against a stubborn (potentially managerless? My memory escapes me) Port Vale having gone 1-0 down on the stroke of h/t. That felt absolutely huge at the time, I remember the relief when it was given after all our probing and possession. That felt like a monumental 2 additional points at the time.

So many 'favourite moments' to choose from,but for me one I never tire if is the first goal against Derby away.Proving we could go direct but stick to our footballing principles.

1. Hirst's goal at Barnsley. The moment when it felt like it was absolutely in our hands. 2. Chaplin's first against Exeter. Took all the pressure off after a slightly nervy start on the pitch. 3. Broadhead's penalty against Port Vale. It really felt that not scoring that might cost us automatic promotion as he ran up. 4. Ladapo's goal at Peterborough, Chaplin had probably already settled that one but 2-0 can be a dangerous scoreline. As the ball came into Freddie, I'm not sure even he was expecting that he would do that. 5. Broadhead's free kick versus Wednesday. Pivotal for the season but at the time it changed the whole dynamic of a match we were messing up.
Nearly all from the run in, because that's when there was most tension and they meant more. So many more though:
- Comfortably winning home matches at PR in the Spring, - Ladapo's goal at Charlton (despite what came next that moment would have been a standout in most seasons), - Exeter away was good on and off the pitch, - Cheltenham wasn't great on the pitch but one of those away games where every time I turned round I saw someone I knew.

Football really is very fine lines isn't it. I know things should even out over a season, but you wonder what might've been had Bolton scored that penalty at their place, or if Broadhead's first doesn't go in against Port Vale.
We thoroughly deserved it all though. Best team in the league, if anything our points tally doesn't do us justice which is saying something of a side who finished on 99.

It got to the stage during that run-in where it was a surprise if we conceded a goal let alone lost or drew a game. An absolutely ridiculous/sensational run.

Do you think we've become a bit too expectant as a result? Not meaning you specifically, but as a fan base? I hope the usual suspects on here don't cry too much when we inevitably don't have it quite so easy against Champ opposition as we did Forest Green and Morecambe. I'm not holding out much hope though.
I'm here for it. It'll be interesting to see us at a higher level and to see where we're 'at' in relation to those clubs. It actually became a little too predictable last season with our 75% possession, 20+ shots, 4 goals and a clean sheet against sides with far inferior budgets.
Lapado's first goal vs Charlton at home and the fact that Chaplin didn't score.
I know he already had 3, but he was toe away from a few quid goal bonus, but left it to roll in. Showed total respect and that we had the luxury of being able to make those decisions with game already won.

You mentioned bolton's pen and if broady hadnt scored against port vsle. How about if the lino did his job at Wednesday and we won 2 1 or if harness had his perfectly legitimate goal against Barnsley allowed and it went 3 1 instead of 2 2.

It was a beautiful goal, technically excellent too. Personally, I would have included it had I seen it live rather than via goal alert and Twitter clip in Stockholm!

We were sat in stand to left of Ipswich supporters and that's the only goal I celebrated as I thought that was job done...

Oh I agree. I'm not saying it was undeserved, as I said I actually think we deserved more points that we ended up with on balance.
I get the Harness one though, I can see why the ref gave it from the angle he had. It might've looked like his left arm comes over and pulls back the defender. Not saying it was the right decision but definitely less of a comical decision than some. Sheffield Wednesday away was a complete joke, he wasn't even close to being onside.

Hirsts 3rd goal against Exeter for me, because I remember I just looked up and laughed, out of sheer disbelief and joy at what was happening, knowing that there was no way we would possibly concede more goals in 60 mins or so than we had in all of the last 14 games. We were promoted at that point. Chaplins 2nd at Peterborough, because it was a bit nervy at the time, but I knew they wouldnt score twice at that point.
All of the others for similar reasons.
Also, welcoming the players for the Exeter home game was a great moment.

Chaplin’s second at Peterborough was superb, particularly the perfectly waited pass from Broadhead.
Derby away, the goals were great obviously, but the celebrations with the players at the end, you could see they had the togetherness and belief that we could do it.
Hirst at Barnsley for the strength and skill he showed followed by that feeling of total euphoria, at that moment nothing else mattered!
Chappers at Barnsley, that was when I felt we were up.
However, before both those goals the long and loud “Blue Army” chant whilst one of our players was having treatment seemed to galvanise the team and carry them through a difficult period of the match…..that will stay with me for a long time.
