So the tories flagship policy has been destroyed in court. What an embarrassment this govt is. We need a general election pronto to get these imcompetents out. They are achieving absolutely nothing and taking the country down.

It's the perfect result for them tbh. Taking aside the moral argument against it for a moment, it's expensive and unworkable. Telling people that the lefty lawyers has blocked their policy will appeal to a certain demographic.

It’s a win/win for the Tories. Either they deport to Rwanda and are seen as “tough” on immigration, or it fails though legal challenge and they blame lefty, woke judges. Illegal immigration/refugee seeking is a distraction and the Tories know it. People trying to get here in small boats have absolutely nothing, I repeat nothing, to do with the virtual collapse of the NHS, fall in police nos., teacher recruitment problems, crumbling schools, rising poverty, no social housing, growing food bank reliance, broken social care etc, etc, etc, on and on and f’kcking on in a depressing Tory death spiral.

She's in parliament at 3:30 today against Yvette Cooper.

Might be worth watching as Cooper pulls her apart

Well I would like to think anyone with an ounce of intelligence would realise the plan was doomed to fail from the outset. Plus, havent they already ploughed millions into this scheme in setting up a refugee centre there and paying the Rwandan govt a sweetener?

They can blame whoever they wish. The blame sits squarely with them, and hopefully people wont buy whatever BS excuses they come up with.

Civil Servants warned them it was illegal last year and some resigned because of it.

They've spent £140m so far.

Nah. Let's not bother.

Given that it was a split decision, I wouldn't bank on the Government not winning their appeal in the Supreme Court.

That would certainly give a boost to them, and if they fail, they can revert to blaming all and sundry.

This from one of the judges suggests the Rwanda policy doesn't really amount to much, apart from the headlines.

"... the evidence before the divisional court was that the physical capacity for housing asylum seekers in Rwanda was limited to 100."

Once again the Tories have fallen into their own trap. having left the EU, and so the Dublin ASgreemnet there was always going to be a massive increase in this kind of migration.

Only a cretin would have built an argument on claims that it would actually decrease migration. The same idiocy meant civil servants were used to avoid a no deal brexit. Stumbling from one failure to another, someone of limited intellect came up with this nonsense, without ever checking the legality first.

So we have a situation where the Prime Miniature has made pledges he won't be able to keep, backed (in this case) by someone (Braverman) with all the charm of a turd in a swimming pool.

Such stuff might over excite the 'wokey cokeys' but they are a far smaller number than these ministers believe. As fixating on this stupidity while mortgage costs, food costs and energy bills continue to rise merely demonstrates to voters how out of touch they are.

Or perhaps they believe what the lunatic 'wokey cokeys' believe, that it is an 'invasion' by brown folk who have dumped sh it in our rivers and seas, put up the cost of food and caused interest rates to rise (Farage 7pm kGB News).

The reality is, more Tory Home Secretaries have been flown to Rwanda than migrants.

They new full well this was never going to work & now they can play the victims, sadly a lot of the population will forget about what else is going on around them when cruela & co start bleatingabout the small boat ‘invasion’, & the press have more sympathy for rich men dying in a mini sub than children getting washed up on a beach somewhere

Check the polling on this. It comes way below the cost of living, housing, health and mortgages.
And the reality is, were there to be some way of removing every single one of these people by the end of the weekend, it would do nothing to address the above concerns

And you don't have to be too bright to recognise that if inflation was caused by the war in Ukraine, the supply of gas being interrupted and other external factors then it is a blatant lie by Sunak for him to claim he will cut inflation....... given that it was supposed to be out of his control.

No, it is just another convenient excuse to follow the Brexit aim of cutting business costs. In this case, wages. The irony of the thickos voting for a wage cut should not go unnoticed

There is now nothing the Tories can do to win back support. The best they can do is get out while they still have enough support to retain a presence in Parliament.
