They’ll still blame Ashton for it.

Nevermind that, somebody in the crowd is having their legs broken!

What on earth is the first defender doing? It looks like me the first time I tried to play FIFA with an Xbox controller, constantly over running where I wanted to be.

I have seen defenders hang back and be scared to commit, and allow Wingers to go round them and cross unchallenged, but I have never seen a professional footballer run past the Winger and say "I'll let you have the inside, it's all yours!"

Extraordinary.

(And the "challenge for the ball" should be a penalty. No question that the attacker falling to the ground is in direct proportion to the extent that he was well and truly tw4tted.)

Hmm dunno, defender read it, was strong and muscled him off it, City player went down too easy..

If that was Wolf or Burgess I'm sure we'd agree :)

Shoulder to shoulder, not a trip.

Looked to me that the defender just stood his ground and was far too strong and he just bounced off him.

No trip indeed, but not shoulder to shoulder, more elbow to face.

Looked more like a sneaky elbow to the jugular to me. Although in my defence I was still laughing at the first defender’s attempt at a tackle. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone miss their challenge by so much.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
