I saw Ibibio Sound Machine at Bearded Theory weekend before last and they were one of the best acts of the weekend, saw last quarter of an hour of Theon Cross's set at WOMAD last year and wished I had caught all of it (but I have a feeling that Lambrini Girls are more to your taste.) |  |

I find lambrini girls a bit cringe tbh. Like the music, but the lyrics and vocal delivery are a a bit too on the nose. | |

I've been meaning to get tickets for the Saturday as I've got to take my little one for a haircut that day, but just seen it's over 14's only, so that rules us out! Disappointing, as it's a decent lineup, and I'd like to support local stuff like this!

The other act I saw that Bearded Theory and Brighten The Corners share (I managed to miss Divorce) was Da Googie but I see that Deb Goodge is giving a talk in Ipswich and maybe not playing. It was introspective fare and I'm afraid I managed just three or four pieces before I went off to see Battlesnake - who I enjoyed quite a lot, suppose that makes me a less serious music fan... | |

A great first night. Really enjoyed Mouse Outfit and Deep Tan were decent as well. Finally made it to the Smokehouse, now that's a proper venue. Shame the acoustics aren't better in the Cornhill but what a great event it is. Super early bird is so the way to go....bargain. | |

Liked the sound of CLT and Borough Council but work and living out of town meant a latish start. I wonder if the Borough singer's voice is stronger in the flesh. | |
