OK. Thick question moment 22:00 - Jun 20 with 2909 views | FrimleyBlue | Alot of safe standing for away fans... Does this increase away capacity compared to seated? I've not really thought about it tbh. But surprised to see such a large amount of safe standing compared to home support. So just wondered.

OK. Thick question moment on 22:04 - Jun 20 with 2818 views | Swansea_Blue | No increase in capacity. It’s ‘safe’ standing, so each seat now has a rail In front of it. Still the same number of seats/places (unless they’ve filled in spaces that didn’t previously have seats). What they’ve had to do is borrow an extra 1,000 spots from the home area (I wonder how many times it will sell out).

Ta. Wonder what the idea is behind such a large amount if safe standing. Seems a bit of a money waster when they could just sit in the seats already there.

OK. Thick question moment on 07:24 - Jun 21 with 2063 views | LegendofthePhoenix | One interesting observation is that now approx half of the Cobbold is for away fans, presumably stadium capacity has dropped a bit to say 29,300. If we have allocated 2,930 places to away fans, that means the entire capacity of the Cobbold is only 6,000, even less than most estimates. So replacing the Cobbold with a 12,000 or 13,000 seater gives a stadium capacity of 35/36k.

My guess is that away fans have always stood at most grounds for years, so the PL now appears to have gone down the route of we can't stop fans standing so make it safer to do so. It appears they have made it mandatory for the away section of all PL clubs now. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
OK. Thick question moment on 16:50 - Jun 21 with 1484 views | MYLEFTFOOT | How do children see if they're standing constantly? Doubt they'll be allowed to bring milk crates in like the olden days. Having been moved from my seat to accommodate the new increase of away fans, a couple of weeks later I got another email telling my seat may well have restricted view because of the safe standing. Would've been good to know this when the new seats were suggested to me but I suppose if I moan I'll just be told I should be grateful to have season tickets and could always give them up.......
