Invasion of the body snatchers with its planet of the apes level ending/twist always haunting and there was a film I loved him in although can’t remember the name when he played an Irishman working for the nazis ?

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers was my fave, but he was good in JFK too imo

Infact he was one of those actors regardless of the quality of the film or how brief his role, always gave memorably good performances.

One of my favourite actors, just watched him in an episode of 60’s Brit cop show Gideon’s Way. The Avengers, The Saint, he paid his dues coming up. Kelly’s Hero’s!! Loved his role in JFK, and ‘Don’t Look Now’ is right up there, think I last saw him as Rothchild.

That’s the one. ‘Eye of the needle’, another great film.

Oddball: great character:

‘Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?’

My hero

Yea, he was so good in that, I thought he was Irish, but did really good accents in everything else.
Funny what gets stuck in your head when a youngster.

It’s only now I leaned he was a Canadian.

A superb actor. Good in Citizen X, a film not shown on TV very often and, of course, Oddball was great!

Great little cameo in JFK.

His cameos were often better than his starring roles. I loved his cameo in A Time To Kill.
