Anyone ever heard of a pro club offering trails only to kids of 'Eastern European Heritage'?
My kids playing for a Romanian-run club and they sent this note out to parents - wonderring if the above is normal / legal or whether to kick off.
I didn't get him involved in youth footy for the sake of trails and it's unlikely he'd be of interest to them with him being half-blind, but this has pissed me off all the same.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa
Football trials for kids limited by heritage on 15:13 - Jun 27 by factual_blue
You know, like norfolk.
Its ok I got it.
The funny thing is that being a minority in that little world at least, has been an education for us both. They promise to do the coaching in English, but when the coach is pissed off, he switches to Romanian quickly leaving my boy out in the cold. I'm comfy with that as a very gentle taste of what it's like to be a minority, but if they're gonna promise trials to kids, then exclude based on ethnicity, that's another matter.

Clearly my humour is beyond others less intellectually blessed than you.
It's a tricky one - is looking to foster their Romanian heritage in foreign country a Good Thing, or a Bad Thing?
I suspect many of True British Patriots would say 'no', conveniently forgetting about the Raj.

Its been interesting being part of it tbh - the chats with the other parents, the different culture (kids being told off for crying when they get a ball in the face, or demanding drills practised over and again until they're done right) and the emphasis on bettering yourself... Just wonderring if we're too alien to fit in, especially after this trail bollacks. Hey ho.

Athletic Bilbao still have a policy of only signing players born, raised, or trained in the Basque country. Incredible that they're one of only three teams never to have been relegated from La Liga with that policy in place.
