Great deal for a player nowhere near his ceiling.

The progress he made under McKenna was senstational last season and i expect it played no small part in his decision.

I think he was comfortably the best player in the division by the end of last season. Just unplayable.

Exciting to see how he continues.

Feck me! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

I’m guessing that he’ll be paraded in the new kit in the next couple of days.

GTF in!!

The most exciting signing in my Town supporting life (since the late 90’s).

Chelsea may have money, but they are a joke of a club, with plastic fans. Omari is coming home where he’s loved, and can progress his game with the most talented coach in the country.

Over the moon with this!!!

Marcus Stewart was a wow signing that I was over the moon with.

Finidi was incredible given I'd watched him in a World Cup and Champions League final/

This tops the lot though. Gio was the best loanee we ever had until Omari who eclipsed him in the end. To then tie him up for £20m is amazing.

Ahhh, but you weren’t around when we bought Paul Mariner 😃. What a signing that was! An upgrade on David Johnson 1st an£ he was a flippin good player.

Succch a lot of money, but such a good, positive, front foot deal.

Emotionally, we love him. Young, positive guy with a big smile, bags of talent, great spirit and the best celebration photos since Kuqi. In terms of the data, he's got great great numbers.

But just looking at the money side of things: all investment is about calculated risk. Some have bigger appetites for it than others. This is a simple bet that Hutchinson will have a good season, and is good enough for the Premier League. I'm pretty sure that if that bet pays off: (i) if we stay up he'll be worth £30m- £50m in 12 months time, and (ii) if we go down, he will still be worth around £20m, and we might even have the realistic option to keep him as he'll be young enough to bounce back.

Kieran says he's good enough, and the investment justification follows. I hope we never have to sell the guy, and he ends up with Mills-esque numbers, but if and when we have to admit that he's outgrown us, I hope that the fee is obscene!

It's soo much money, but he's soo much player...

Belated Happy Birthday Kieran! Doesn't need to be said this would be an amazing signing!

Not his ceiling maybe, still expensive for an unproven PL player though. But yes we know his qualities and must think he’s worth it. It’s a big wad of cash for a newly promoted team, so I hope it all works out as we think (hope?) it will. He was immense at times last season. As you say, literally unplayable.

You ain’t wrong Churchy! Mariner was the signing that said we were no longer a small club, but one that the very best up and coming players were willing to come too. What a signing he was.

We just knew he was the real deal. What a footballer. He had the lot.
