I'm pleased, but cautious. If KM wants them, that's good enough for me.
Phillips - barely played for the last two years. Undoubtedly could be our best player if he can get back to the highs of his Leeds form, but that was a while ago.
Szmodics - I'm probably more down on this one than most. Never played at the top level and coming off a freak seasons he's never shown glimpses of prior. But some players do 'click' later in their careers. As a squad option at that price, fine.
Cajuste - Who knows? Going off his youtube videos he looks a player. But you could make a youtube video of me where I look like Maldini in his prime.

I would say that only Kalvin Phillips is a signing potentially beyond our expectations. And we know the reasons he is available to us. Kudos to KM for being the pulling power on this one.

With regards Szmodics 'freak season' - he's bagged 3 goals in about 80 mins of football over 2 games for Blackburn already this season after next to no pre-season. |  |
