"credit to Ipswich, they had a real good go" 23:21 - Aug 18 with 3589 views | FromReuserWithLove | F-off Danny Murphy you condescending tool. This is what I'm really gonna hate and hope we shove this crap down their throats and show we deserve to be here.

I was thinking the same. And isn’t that exactly what we have been saying ourselves?

"credit to Ipswich, they had a real good go" on 07:52 - Aug 19 with 2664 views | Blue_In_Boston | Sounds like some very touchy people on here, pundits offending whatever they say. We did give it a good go, got stuck into them and tried to play our usual game. Equally the 'Liverpool could have had 5' comment was also true. Jota; Salah & Diaz all missed great chances in that 20 minute spell when they moved up a gear. [Post edited 19 Aug 2024 7:53]

They also missed a header from 4 yards.

Not sure anyone was offended or was being overly touchy (apart from the OP). We gave it a good go and in the first half we could have scored twice whereas they could have scored five or six in the second half. But neither did and it ended 0-2. I think the truer test of how we will be able to compete in this league will be when we play Fulham.
"credit to Ipswich, they had a real good go" on 08:50 - Aug 19 with 2260 views | Facefacts | couple of comments about this: He's giving us credit that we didn't 'park the bus' at home to Liverpool and acknowledges that Liverpool were not exactly in trouble at half time, but had had to work hard to get to half time at 0 - 0. He knows nothing about us - so it's the usual Premier League pundit who turns up to get paid for working, but does no preparation. If he had prepared, he would not have been taken by surprise that we played tactically as we did. It will take time for people to acknowledge that we belong at this level - I think that is the condescending nature of the comment being made. Good start, but let's see how we progress as the season gets going. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We were the better side in the first half and we would have deserved a lead at half time. Liverpool showed their class and demonstrated the gap between the best of the promoted sides and the very top of the league. As well as we've done with recruitment, our squad is a mess and unsettled due to new signings and injuries. Liverpool have made no signings and look very settled even though they have a new manager. This year we won't be challenging for the title and even 2nd looks beyond us.

I’d hate to think what your reaction would have been if he actually said something wrong.

I dunno, maybe as a highly paid MOTD pundit do some research and find out a little bit about us! Obviously I know how it goes and it was just an off the cuff remark anyway. Didn't think it provoke any response let alone so many polar defensive ones! 😂
