Yeah I was getting nervy about this until someone reminded me about the amortisation. This stuff becomes more tricky a few years down the line once we're "paying off" a lot of players at once. |  |

Must have done. But given that we’ve been out of the top flight for 22 years - a period of time when the money going into it has become obscene - it’s not really surprising. If we don’t like it we have to accept ourselves as a league 1 club or at best a middling Championship with no aspirations other than to survive as one of the best of those who lack ambition.
I hate the money in the prem and the amount players are paid nauseates me - I haven’t watched or listens to a prem game for years and in a way it pains me to do it now. The only reason I will is because some of the overpaid players are my overpaid players. I just hope our players stay honest, play proper football and don’t become those players who fall over holding their head when they've been tapped on the ankle, etc. |  |
