Getting a bit light-headed about going in front. Feeling the shock and the heat of those crazy few minutes and three goals agin us, with some silly mistakes. Steadying the ship and not capitulating. The superb away fans drowning out any locals who try to sing through their prawn sandwiches. Starting to play with a bit of confidence again, but not quite so high. Handling a few more scares fairly well. Getting to half time without any more damage.
Getting acclimatised to the worst possible conditions this new environment can throw at us.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, like Sunderland last season, Liverpool and Man City back-to-back have been the best possible 'welcome to the division' matches we could have hoped for. Km will have learnt an awful lot about the division and how he needs to adapt to it and it'll benefit us long term this season. [Post edited 24 Aug 2024 15:57]

Also if we're not going to have our best side available due to injury / transfers then its probably best to play these 2 games that probably would've been fruitless regardless.
Sounds defeatist but being realistic about it its been a prolonged pre season. Real stuff starts next weekend when we've hopefully added a couple more and the likes of Phillips and Cajuste, Szmodics etc have all had a few weeks with the squad. |  | | |

Making his league debut for us against his old team , you knew his pulse would ge beating hard. Yes the 2nd goal was his fault the third though he could've stayed on his line but Haalands header past him and the finish was world class. Him rushing out would've prevented a goal against lesser players.
