who is Suffolk's best? ( edit living..Britten is another dimension)
Even if one lives over the river now.
Hero's might be one of the best tracks ever written/produced/layered- a starting point for the future.
But castle on the Hill has resonated with the youth of recent years.
Both are influenced by place. our place.
'I like melancholy and have never found it to be the same thing as moroseness or sadness. I've always enjoyed being melancholy, perhaps because that mood is very much a feature of the environment where I grew up. It's a very bleak place and most visitors find it quite miserable. I don't think it's miserable but it's definitely a sort of lost place in a lost time – nothing has changed in this part of England for many hundreds of years;. Eno
It would be good to see/hear them collaborate. So this is really a request.

For me: Eno - could never see Ed coming up with somthing like No Pussyfooting or Music For Airports.....
Or lyrics such as
But if you study the logistics And heuristics of the mystics You will find that their minds rarely move in a line So it's much more realistic To abandon such ballistics And resign to be trapped on a leaf in the vine

The man is an underrated magician.
And Roger his brother even more so

Sorry, you’re right. Friday evening, dip into TWTD, prob better not replying 😁
But… fusing experimental with pop with Roxy Music and Bowie kind of changed music. Inventing ambient music. The 70s and 80s work with Cluster was maybe as defining and influential as Kraftwerk. I feel this means more than Ed Sheeran 🤷

Brian Eno (whose full name is unbelievably impressive!) is one of the most influential artists of the later part of the 20th century, you only get that sort of kudos when you reflect on a career that long and see how important he was for artists following him. Ed Sheeran isn't yet in that category, but give it another 20 years and we could be saying the same. Even now he writes a lot of songs for other artists.
However at the same stage of their career I would say Ed Sheeran wins due to simply being one of the biggest musician in the world. Not sure Brian Eno had that level of kudos at the same age as Ed currently is.

The fancy bits of his name are confirmation additions.

Sorry I am probably being slow but what are.confirmarion additions? Are they names that he has added?
Never realised this but Brian Eno was born in Melton, just outside Woodbridge. Exactly the same place I was born!
Edit: just looked at Wikipedia and now understand what is meant by confirmation name. No idea why it would be different to the name on your birthday certificate but there you go.
Used to deliver to Roger when I was a postman in Bungay a lovely guy and he lived in a small terrace house where he walked out of his front door straight on to the street .You never saw him walk in Bungay without his dog and his clothes looked like he got them from a jumble sale
