Fine if that's allowed but delap only has to look at a defender and it's a freekick

They're on a collision course, Haaland manages the collision a bit better than the defender and of course is heavier. OK, he does drop his shoulder in slightly at the point of impact, but he's not gone out of his way to shoulder charge the bloke off the ball. Could understand it given as a foul, but I think it's the right decision, and I think there might be a bit of bias against Haaland given his size and profile.

100% Delap gives a foul away with this. on 15:09 - Sep 25 with 2159 views | Garv | This might seem nonsensical but I think you get away with that 99/100 if you're about to score a goal, i.e it wouldn't be disallowed. In 'open play' nowhere near the goal that'll often be a foul. Both scenarios are probably right. There's not enough there to disallow a goal that's been scored, but if there's no chance of a goal then the referee might consider it an easy opportunity to punish an attacker perhaps using a bit too much strength. And I don't agree that it's one rule for a team like City and another for one like Ipswich. Why does everything have to be a conspiracy? [Post edited 25 Sep 2024 15:20]

Defender went down, looking for a foul if you ask me. Wasn't strong enough. Def not a free kick.

Yeah. It's a contact sport, shoulder to shoulder, nothing doing I say.

Given it was 10 yards outside the box....no!

Absolute joke this was disallowed - Haaland one is fine but so is this... can see why Watford fans feel aggrieved

That's mainly my point tbh. I've seen various clips today of Haaland over the last few games. He's pushed and shoved players out the way in various places in the pitch but seems to get away with a lit more than other players who like delap or a hirst get freekicks given against them because they dared to try and compete for a ball. That goal and the watford disallowed one is a prime example imo.

I'm not sure it's a conspiracy to believe that bigger clubs often get the rub of the green over less fancied clubs. I'd say it's almost instinctive for referees to make decisions which upset the least amount of people possible in order to preserve the status quo.

Joke decision. Would have made it 3-1, but I think we drew 2-2 in the end.
