Stopped off here last night 11:49 - Oct 6 with 1440 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Looks like a good job I did, Jeez. Anyway, hopefully some balanced reflection on the match. We played well in parts, after the Delap goal, we really started to grow more into game, their second goal and the time at which it came knocked the stuffing out of us, even more so the early second half goal. Too many players didn't show up, and I do wonder if we went into the game over confident, following the Villa draw, there was some evidence of that even on this board with posts like "Happy first win of the season day!" before kick off. Johnson seemed lost at times, out of position at times in entirely wrong position, but he wasn't alone, by any means, yet he seems to be taking the brunt of it. We were poor defensively, that even extending to Morsy and Phillips, the ease with which they were able to play through our lines was astonishing. West Ham had their tactics to play us absolutely spot on, they exploited our high line over and over again, with Antonio and Wan-Bissaka constantly getting in behind with their pace and power. Sorry to say, players didn't turn up but McKenna also got this one tactically wrong, (first time I've ever said that). I think an awful lot of us need to remember who we are and where we are, 7 of our starting 11 were playing in the Championship last season, this is going to be a tough season to watch compared to the last two, we are so far ahead of the plan that now we are having to try and catch up with ourselves. The wins will come, posts suggesting Axe being out could be 'the nail in our coffin' are ridiculous. Strap in, we are going to lose a lot of games this season, but hopefully if we can continue to pick up the odd point against the top 10 teams, and win more than the likes of Everton, Wolves, Southampton, Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth we should have enough to stay up, and then the squad evolves again. BLUE ARMY!!

As people said to be previously just because You've added positives around the negatives it doesn't take away the negative vibe. So based on that feedback alone I don't see your post being different to the posts we've seen last night and this morning. Think In summary We all agree defence weren't great Johnson was poor Muric was OK but again had a bad spell that didn't help us We are competing but also missing something. In regards to the patience. Everyone has it. Haven't seen anyone show they aren't. But equally you spend over 100 mill on players then you would expect a win at some point. It felt like west ham should have been that game after villa last week. The fact it wasn't then means you're wondering who can we beat at this level if it's not a Southampton or a West ham or a Fulham etc.

Errors for the first three goals, basic, preventable errors. Even the fourth one wasn’t great. Conceding at stupid times. Before even reading what McKenna had said I was arguing on the way back to the station that West Ham didn’t have to work hard for their goals and that’s exactly what he said. Unfortunately every game this season is going to be a real fight for 3 points as we are up against teams that on paper are better than us most of the time. We have to be at our very best, tactically spot on and to some extent we have to hope the opposition aren't quite at it. That's the reality of it. Arguably every player in that West Ham 11 would start for us and that was a game many people were ticking off as our first win.

It made sense to be one tho. They'd lost 4 home games prior. We'd had a cracking game v villa and looked like we'd taken a big step forward. So I get the confidence. If you're going to get that first win yesterday seemed like a good day to get it. Usually I agree with west ham away isn't one you put in an easy pot at all. But can understand why many did see it as our first win to come. Now it has to be Everton. No not a must win. But a massive weight off people's minds. Gets us 3 points etc etc.

Did anyone bother to check the teams WH lost at home to in the PL? Chelsea, Villa and Man City. Yet supposedly according to some we would go there and blow them away because we’d had 4 draws. Utter nonsense - that game was never one where we could be confident of a win, hopeful, yes but in reality all that’s happened is we been undone by too many of our players having an off day AND the opposition cashing in in virtually every mistake we made. We didn’t play well, we weren’t allowed to for the last hour of the game, but no one is taking that into account in the search for scapegoats. Since KM arrived there’s rarely been a game where we’ve been poor without a response in the next game, why would fans think that defeat means the end.
Stopped off here last night on 13:56 - Oct 6 with 1033 views | BloomBlue | I mentioned on another post, the fact the entire team had a bad game was strange, why was that, was it just one of those things or is the fact we've not won a game yet getting to the players. When players lack confidence they think too much, which often results in silly mistakes. I can always accept a defeat, but it was our inability to try something different which annoyed me. Too many players kept doing the same thing even though it kept failing, why not try something different. I'm also slightly concerned we're not changing tactics / formation during a game we're losing. We are changing players but not formation. West Ham were very direct, almost long ball, we changed players but not formation and West Ham continued playing it long and in the end it was easy for them, almost a preseason friendly in the last 20-25 mins. We gave Liverpool a lot of problems in the first of the first game but Slot made a change in players and formation at HT and overran us 2nd half. Yesterday at WH once they made it 2-1 they were finding all the gaps, our players trying the same things and it failed time and again. Then we did the same in the 2nd half
