And i didn't have Hutchinson down as being our expensive flop at the start of the season but he is really struggling to make any impact right now. I know he'll only get better as is a massive talent but right now, he's finding it tough imo.

I don’t quite think your final sentence applies to us yet. If we have 10 points after 25 games, then maybe, but as McKenna says, we’ve taken points from half the games we’ve played and been competitive in most of them.

It’s not that odd. This was one of his better matches but he’s not had a match even close to morsy’s standard. We’re talking about a guy that was lauded for England as one of our best players and also recently Southgate saying we’ve not been able to find a replacement for him.
Morsy looks head and shoulders above him in EVERY department. Now that’s a praise of Morsy as much as a criticism of Phillips, but I hoped he’d be a standout this year.
We’ve had Morsy on a yellow card and potential ban for 10 yellows and gone 6 7 8 matches with total discipline. Phillips sending off today was for a late tackle in the oppositions area which was totally unnecessary and naive. And blame the ref as much as we want ( we all agree on the penalty), but what cost us is going down to 10 men whilst 1-0 up. | | | |

Without this additional context you have now provided, it's impossible to read your original sentence as anything other than he's having a shocker - which he clearly isn't.
I'd argue, again, that 'flop' is wholly inaccurate. Is he as effective as we was last year, no - is he playing badly, no. This is a different level and he and the team as still adapting.
