I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game 20:16 - Nov 2 with 4566 views | FromReuserWithLove | But if we're being honest, he is having one shocker of a season so far isn't he? And i didn't have Hutchinson down as being our expensive flop at the start of the season but he is really struggling to make any impact right now. I know he'll only get better as is a massive talent but right now, he's finding it tough imo. I love that the staff and players are all so professional and positive because it must be very hard at present. The prem is humbling and humiliating. [Post edited 2 Nov 2024 20:29]

We all know how different it could have been. So hard to take it out on the players after today. Let’s hope we can pick an some unexpected point over the next three games!

I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game on 20:36 - Nov 2 by homer_123 | Not incorrect there Leo, as I posted earlier. He's 21 and only in his second year of men's football. I'm not sure exactly what people 'expect' from him. |
21 and over 20m! Should we not expect some kind of output? It's OK to be critical but live your team you know. And i thought the OP was obviously implicit in it's meaning of 'shocker'. I'll spell it out better in future.

Thought he was outstanding today until the crazy challenge to get second yellow. Morsy has not been better than him. We really missed Philips today when he went off. We didn't really miss Morsy last week. Hutch is still learning. Was good today, tied their left back up and kept him pinned down most of the game. As soon as Burns was on they just bypassed him and their left back got right up the pitch. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Morsy has been light years ahead of him. Morsy has literally rolled on from the last 2 seasons and looks a premier league player. I’m not putting Phillips down so much but the way morsy has stepped up his game and looked comfortable at this standard ( whilst many others have struggled with the massive step up) has surprised even myself. He’s still as cool calm and collected as in league 1, very rarely gives the ball away whilst also leading by example as the captain we knew he was albeit in lower divisions. Definitely a club legend of the future for me. Morsy was unavailable last week so we had a replacement, we swapped Phillips today for nobody and although the Penalty would have probably pushed us over the edge, the 10 men is what probably cost us. We missed phillips because it left us with 10 men. What a strange evaluation [Post edited 2 Nov 2024 21:18]

I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game on 21:28 - Nov 2 with 1017 views | seblue78 | Phillips was excellent today and is really growing into his role. He does the odd silly thing but that’s all part of his game. His athleticism and speed across those first couple of yards is something we’ve not had for god knows how long. That second was never a yellow. And he will play a key part in keeping us up this season.

It was a definite yellow. Overcooked his touch and left his foot in a fraction of a second longer than he should have ( whilst on a yellow)

Not for me he pulls out and the defender makes a complete meal of it . Yet fatawu is not even a foul on Chaplin: each to their own

I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game on 20:31 - Nov 2 by FromReuserWithLove | Again... Shocker in terms of everything seemingly going against him. I said in the title i like him and he was having a good game. Omari has been a flop THIS SEASON so far, i don't see how he hasn't been. I said he's young and will only improve. I'm talking right now, this season. |
I agree FWIW. Omari still looks a real talent in possession but he's rarely threading that important pass through to teammates, or fully beating his man. I didn't expect him to look a superstar at this level so early in his career, but I did hope he'd be creating more than he has. Chaplin's impact has been so positive in part because his clever passing isn't intercepted nearly so much. And I think Phillips has been a pretty mixed bag; he doesn't look out of place in a side fighting near the bottom, dare I say it(!).
I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game on 21:45 - Nov 2 with 958 views | itfcsuth | I think the rust is starting to come off him to be honest. Hutchinson is a strange one because he was asked to play a position that does not suit him, but as a RW, I personally think he’s electric. Thought he was really good today.

I like Kalvin Phillips and he was having a good game on 20:29 - Nov 2 by homer_123 | I'd say KP is growing into the role and team. He's had a rough few years and confidence is low but there are glimpses of the Leeds and England player there. I thought last week and today he was very very good. 'Shocker' is very harsh. As for Hutch, he is 21 years old and this is only his second season playing in the men's game - it's another level to the Championship but he doesn't look out of place, he's played well and, again, 'flop' seems incredibly harsh. |
Hutchinson was also sick last week. I put him being slightly under par down to that. He's not remotely a flop, it's just a very tough league.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

I don’t think Hutchinson was below par today. I thought he was excellent. I had a good, close up view of him first half and he wasn’t marked by one man. He was often marked by two, sometimes three yet most of the time they couldn’t get the ball off him. His pace, control, skill and threat is frightening and improving all the time. He will play no 10 one day but at the moment he’s better on the right. Sometimes his decision making is questionable but that’s as much down to others not making space as his own inexperience. He was also encouraging of others today, particularly Chaplin who he seems to get on with. How anyone can describe him as a ‘flop’ is beyond me. At £20m? At PL prices he’s worth a lot more than that now. Phillips? Played well today. He’s a very good player and was unlucky with the sending off. If that was the measure, that mop on two legs Faes should have been gone by half time with some of his antics.

When I say below par I mean versus his own high standards. He was still very decent.

I agree thought Hutch had his best game this season and SS tried but didn't really impact the game.
