Nice to see VAR go our way today too 22:49 - Dec 14 with 1969 viewsFrimleyBlue

When you freeze the point in which taylor heads that ball. Al is directly in front of the keeper. If that was against town I'd be fuming. But after all we've had this season I'll take that all day long. :)

Also.... is it just me that can hear a group cheering before taylor heads it... what did they know... lol.

Yeah I appreciate that.. I just remember many being chalked of last season for it even when the keeper could cleanly see it. Just nice to see it given and not chalked off

Not for me, I wouldn't be fuming... If I was Gary O'Neil I'd be absolutely fuming as to how Taylor was completely unmarked. Great header though 👌

Yeah terrible marking. But lovely header tho. Used the speed of the cross to see it home.

Not great marking, or brilliant run by three players to create the space for Jack, good to see us score from a set play planned and practiced on the training ground.

Thats mainly because the GK moves behind Al.

I wouldn’t have been surprised to see it ruled out. At the point of the header the keeper may have seen the ball, but it must be distracting to have an opposition player stand right in front of you. It can’t not be.

I’m not complaining about it though, obviously lol. But from now on, I’d scrape the rule if it was down me. I’m with Brian Clough. If a player’s not interfering with play, he shouldn’t be on the pitch.

Think we got away with it as the keeper can see Taylor going for it and as it goes to the keepers left has a good view once contact has been made,
If it had gone to the keepers right I think it may have got chalked off, good goal,

The header was so precise he wouldn't have got down to it regardless of whether he had a clear view or not. Most corners these days involve defenders and attackers jostling each other. If for instance you have a player near post isn't he obstructing the view of the keeper ? Back in the day a forward could barge into the goalie when he went up and collected a ball and if he ended up in the back of the net the goal stood. I have also seen many instances where a goalie dives at the feet of a forward and the forward leaves a trailing leg so that he catches the arm of the keeper, falls over and a penalty is given. Where the problems lay is the interpretation by a referee and VAR causing huge controversy as one is given in one game and not in another. Leaving the validity of VAR in question.

Yes, I suspect the ref took the placement into account. Lovely header.
