For £12m, says Alan Nixon:

Leicester City are set to sign striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough in a £12 million raid.

The Foxes hope to agree a fee for Latte Lath and hand him the chance to keep them in the Premier League.

Ivory Coast hit man Latte Lath has been angling for a move for months and could now have a shot at the top flight.

Latte Lath was also linked with West Ham and Ipswich but Leicester are close to agreeing a deal for the exciting forward.

If the case it is because we are looking elsewhere and I don't believe West Ham are looking either .

Not sure they'd accept £12M after knocking back £20M from us in the summer.

"Set to sign [him] for £12m" but, in the next sentence, makes it clear that they haven't even agreed a fee.

Yet more top-level reporting from Nixon...

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Not sure about the £12m fee to be fair considering we were up to £20m I believe in the Summer and I would have thought the Jan window would maintain at least the same fee if not slightly more

Got a feeling this is agent b0ll0cks talk - increasing interest and putting their man out there

We'd also agreed terms for him in August, Boro just pulled out at 11th hour. So as others have suggested, we must have a different target in mind. Time will tell....

BBC gossip summary suggests West Ham are in for Evan Ferguson (along with Arsenal and Fulham) - but I suspect they as a club will be linked with every striker story around given the Bowen / Antonio situations

I thought with the FFP murmurings around Leicester, the wallet would be shut in Jan?

I think what West Ham were looking at has completely changed with the Bowen and Antonio injury in recent weeks.

I don't think that's their style. Just keep spending and then say the rules aren't fair.

You'd think so wouldn't you but these clubs just continue to spend and keep getting away with it.....

Antonio started 11 of 14 games before his crash so they'll need a replacement. Plus factor in his age and the fact that he nearly died and it's unlikely that he plays again.

Yes - and their big summer signing Fullkrug has been an abject failure. They will be going for two in Jan I'd imagine.
