Big push now with these two home games against Brighton and City 23:46 - Jan 6 with 2390 viewsjasondozzell

If we can get our noses ahead of Wolves it could be big psychologically as they have a really tough run of fixtures now.

3 points needed somehow from the next two. Or even two points. Then we can put real pressure on them.

Nothing is guaranteed but it feels like we're so close to momentum picking us up and kicking on.

Wolves played well tonight, it's Everton that are on the real downwards trajectory

Wolves were decent in the first half, yet still conceded 2 and should have also given away a penalty. Against any team with a decent attack they will have problems.

Agree that Everton look in bigger trouble though - its all very well grinding out a few 0-0 results, but if you can't score you aint going to win games.

Yes, for all Wolves brightness in the first half they missed easy chances and were effectively shut out by Forest in the second. Classic team at the bottom being unfortunate performance that.

And on Everton, if they do sack Dyche and then try and play expansive football with a team not built for it then it could all go very wrong.

Talk of Dyche walking this month too, which I think will relegate them as they don't have the finances to buy or players to play any other way.

Edit: Yeah, what Steve said. Hadn't spotted that :)

Seems like it will be a race between West Ham and Everton for Potter?

Do Wolves still have access to that super agent Jorge Mendes? Felt as soon as they appointed that Portuguese manager, there was probably a connection to Mendes. If they have some money to spend this window, it wouldn't surprise me to see a couple players who Mendes has access to go to Wolves to help keep them up.

Gary O'Neil would not have had that access to Mendes compared to the Portuguese manager now.

O'Neil appeared to be saying they needed to sell to buy this window because of PSR.

Which I guess leaves them vulnerable to Cunha heading off to somewhere like Chelsea.

Cunha apparently offered a new contract, close to being agreed.

I've seen their close to signing this CB from a French team for around £15m - I believe it was David Ornstein who has reported it.

Cunha is the one. If he went, they're in big trouble on the field for goals and that talisman, but if he doesn't, it sounds like they will be in big trouble off it.

We've won so few games this season that getting another couple in the FA Cup is going to be quite helpful

Had a quick look at Wolves next run of fixtures in the premiership....

Newcastle A
Chelsea A
Arsenal H
Villa H
Liverpool A
Bournemouth A

Hopefully they get as few points as you would expect from them. It would be good for us to get our noses ahead of them over this period.

Sure, they have 6 top half teams.
Our next 6 are just as tricky.
4 top half teams + Spurs + Soton.

Brighton H
Man City H
Liverpool A
Southampton H
Aston Villa A
Spurs H

We have 4 at home and they have 4 away.
Forget hope, we need guts and determination from Town and abject despair for Wolves.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
