How can we get Delap more in the game tomorrow? 18:20 - Jan 18 with 2036 views | jasondozzell | He's such a threat but Brighton's press really stopped us supplying him with many good balls. He's not really as suited to dropping deep as well as he can hold the ball up. Burns is good in the air - sometimes wonder if we are going to go longer sometimes if we need him tucking in closer to Liam to win flick ons etc. We do it a bit already but could use it more? Need to give Broady more too. He's the player that can unlock things.

So many opportunities to put delap through with a nice 10 yard through ball yet just tried to bear everyone himself.

I reckon he'd be pretty good in goal to be fair! Wouldn't have any problem with the old goalie instruction of taking everyone with you if you come out to claim a ball...

Yep - really noticed the other night that he'd kind of regressed to how he was early on with us. Great runs but not releasing or playing the correct ball. Overran it so many times. Hopefully just a blip. I'm. Sure it is. And his defensive game was very good. [Post edited 18 Jan 18:33]

Hutch does suffer from this, he did the same at Arsenal

If only he was less of a monoped.
| I was there when McKenna's ITFC won in the Premier League at Home. Fewest home wins and equal most home defeats in a season in ITFC history. |

He does need to learn to pass to players in better positions Delap can be slightly guilty of that himself

Think that's been one of our biggest weaknesses. It's not that we don't yet into great positions but some of our decisions on the ball are just not quite prem level and that imo is the difference that's costs us this season so far. If we can somehow sort that out then we can be more dangerous when we attack.

Hutch was constantly taking one touch too many, rather then passing or shooting

The most exciting thing about both Hutch and Delap is also their most frustrating thing. Both are still very young and eager. The decision making will get better - especially under McKenna. I just hope both are still with us when that happens.
How can we get Delap more in the game tomorrow? on 08:49 - Jan 19 with 831 views | ArnieM | To get our forwards more in the game, we need a stronger more pacy midfield. There’s minimal link up between defence and the forwards because our midfield sits too deep and has no legs to get forward in support. Also we are often outnumbered in midfield making them ineffective. McKenna can only do what he can do with the players he has at his disposal. Overall he’s doing well.

Would you be in favour of not having three at the back and playing Taylor as a third, more advanced, midfielder. Could make himself available for cut backs.

I'd say let's not rely on our left back to provide most of our opportunities and keep him back at times so one of our 2 midfielders can make a late run to the back of the box.. if davis goes forwards. We have to leave our midfielders back to cover. I think this is one of our problems
