Argyle's Home Park Murals 19:00 - Feb 9 with 2116 viewsviewfromtheu2

Spotted these murals on the FA Cup coverage earlier, would love to see something like this inside of PR

They're nice, but they've got players with less than 100 appearances for them amongst their legends.

That's a bit odd!

Dunno. You might say a certain Jeremy Sarmiento (22 apps) may long be remembered at ITFC.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Think there was a glimpse of Mariner mural second half when Argyle had a throw in. Nice touch

Jason DeVos is in our Hall of Fame, nothing against the guy but we did absolutely nothing of note in the middle of the second tier for the mere 4 seasons he played for us.

I was amazed to see Lindsay Smith there. Two seasons at Plymouth, but legendary at Colchester for his ability to hoof the ball over any stand from any angle and into Layer Road from the other half.

Marcus Stewart played 75 times for Town. Legend.

True enough, but he was captain and made more appearances than the likes of Mowbray and Osborne. It's important to have all eras represented, otherwise kids coming through just won't be able to identify with the list of players or feel like their formative years matter to the club.

There have been times since he retired when we could have done with a De Vos!

Agreed!

They’ve got a David Norris one there as well, another from that era for us!

I wonder where the legend line should be drawn for players under 100 appearances...

Dyer, Bramble, Ambrose? Who else could be considered?

I just think Hall of Fame players should be reserved for big winners, and really great players, sure the likes of DeVos and Herman were good for us, but that spot should in my view only be reserved for the best of the best, and major contributors to genuine success, and not just for good employees over a 4 or 5 year period. In fact I doubt Herman was even here 3 years top.
