Championship promotion and relegation 12:20 - Apr 27 with 1358 viewsringwoodblue

So with Town in the Championship next season, who do we think (and want to) win the playoffs and join Cardiff and Muff in bring relegated to league one.

Personally I’d like to see someone other than Sheff Utd go up, maybe Bristol City although Sheff Utd will be strong next season and therefore stiff competition for Town.

I’d like to see Preston or Stoke go down.

I’d love Millwall to sneak into the play-offs and go up, if not then Bristol City or even Coventry/Sunderland just for someone different, although as you say no worries if Sheff Utd do go back up as less competition.

Preston or Stoke going down would be preference but reckon it’ll be Hull.

Derby v Stoke could be interesting!!

Coming up from League 1 I’d like anyone but Wycombe out of the current play-off lot, hopefully Reading don’t sneak in. Stockport probably the preferred choice.

I’d like Sheff Utd to go up as I think they are the strongest club in the playoffs.

I’d like to see Preston stay up as I really like Deepdale. I’d like to see either Stockport or Orient go up from L1.

Yeah from League One, anyone except Wycombe to avoid the post match queues to get out of the place. Charlton/Orient would be good away days.

From the competition perspective for next season, Sheffield Utd for promotion. Not sure how strong Bristol City/Sunderland will be next season.

I think Sunderland will fail in the play-offs. They've tailed off pretty poorly recently, probably not helped by being clear in 4th for months and not quite having or needing that full intensity. Bit like WBA last year.

I think PNE will drop. They are extremely vulnerable next week.

Hope Preston go down, we've got a terrible record up there. And the Blades to go up as they look pretty strong.

For purely selfish reasons, I'd quite like Wycombe to slither up, but I can't see that happening.

Wheels have fallen right off.

Reading would be quite useful, particularly on a Tuesday night...

Pure selfish ITFC head on says Blades up via the playoffs. We couldn’t have asked for a better 3 up if that happens.

At the other end probably Luton on the basis they’ll be on 2nd season parachute money and might come back a little stronger next season. Stylistically they’re the sort of side we might get bullied by a bit as well, although I think they’ll see a lot of change there this summer.

That said I know Matt Bloomfield reasonably well and have done for 25 years, so I want him to keep them up. Maybe Stoke down in their place ideally, although I think Hull is more likely given they’re a point behind and Pompey away won’t be an easy place to go.

Sunderland would be fun and might push another club out with Leeds too. Would be interesting to have them both up and out of the Championship.
