West stand sponsor 13:37 - Jun 30 with 1643 views | wrightsrightglove | Now that Halo have been announced, wonder what’s happening with the West stand sponsorship? I had assumed it was being held back until because it was the same sponsor for the kit and the stand but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Seems strange that the club haven’t taken the opportunity to get some more money through the door yet

Or the Co-op stand, or the Britannia stand, depending on your age

The sponsorship ended midway through last season, would have thought there’d be plenty of people interested and a pretty simple deal to make in the scheme of things

Well that’s nonsense. Was the Pioneer Stand from the moment it opened for many years whilst they were the shirt sponsor and main club sponsor.

Sorry, should’ve said these days, as that was the last time it happened. Have to maximise the opportunity/revenue.

Securing a sponsor for an EFL club is not a simple deal. You have to consider the club reputation and performance and alignment with the club's demographics, for example Halo being a local company was an excellent fit. My guess is we have a number of gambling suitors happy to spend their cash, but not sure that suits the club. Imagine the stand which the family section sits in being sponsored by a Bet365 equivalent . . . Factor on top current market conditions and existing sponsorship commitments further complicate the scenario. I imagine the club had a few suitors while sitting in the PL, but that probably changed with relegation, but no doubt any future contract will have promotion clauses built into it. Finally, once you identify the partner the process involves negotiations including contracts and compliance with league regulations. It's a long way from simple.

That's why I said 'in the scheme of things'. The club works on several multi-million pound transfers each season, they've just secured a much larger front of shirt sponsorship deal, Achilleus started sponsoring the North stand half way through a season. I take your point but this type of deal is pretty small fry compared to a lot of what the club is working on on a daily basis
