He's a decent enough champ player but his passing and crossing hasn't been slick enough. Johnson I know hasn't set the world on fire but he needs to be thinking I need another shot and I'm going to take it next time!

You are probably right but Johnson has it in him to be a very good football at the level with the attributes he has. He certainly can only blame himself for being on sidelines though. [Post edited 17 Oct 22:44]

| Young/Johnson on 22:30 - Oct 17 with 590 views | Garv | When was Johnson's last competitive minute of football? Would love to be a fly on the wall of his conversations with McKenna, if indeed there even is any dialogue. Personally, and this is funny considering we're now discussing all four of them, I'm keen on getting Harry Clarke back involved. Bizarre situation in that area of the squad. | |

Young has so much quality, it is criminal not to use him at this level | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Almost forgot about Clarke to be fair. Don't get me wrong when there was talk for Fulham in for Johnson I was all got it as getting cash for him would be great. Understood getting Furlong in. But he doesn't seem to have the pace and slows things down. He's ot a bad player by any means. Just hasn't upgraded us. Our right hand side recruitment is a little bit of a worry. I still really like the Egeli signing. Mcateer is such and odd one. Ogbene Pace would really help us.

I don't get it. I like furlong but I thought he was to be rotated with young. How you can have a player with 30 odd prem appearnces last season and not utilise him is bizarre.

I agree. But while we sort the rest of the problems, let’s put a real quality player in his preferred position who also has the experience and nous to help everyone around him.
| Young/Johnson on 22:55 - Oct 17 with 397 views | pbishop1799 | Johnson is a funny one. Very athletic, seems (or seemed) to have a good attitude. I recall some bright moments last year, e.g., scoring against Chelsea, but also some stinkers like West Ham away. Still think he's a good footballer and you'd certainly think so in the Championship. He either doesn't fit AT ALL within McKenna's vision for the team. Or, there's some fundamental problem behind the scenes we'll never know about. | | | |
