I am going to give a "woke" reply to this.
Of course I hope we beat them, they are our biggest rivals. If Norwich somehow went out of business we would miss them more than any other club, we really would. They are a football club with a long history and tradition. I for one do no like referring to them as scum.

Agreed.

However, I would gladly trade 9 wins for a defeat at Norwich at this stage.
Yes I really would.

If promotion is the aim, that’s the only logical position. We could end up beating them twice and not getting relegated, which will feel fairly hollow come the end of the season imo

Please don't refer to other humans as "scum" (Ian Huntley excepted).

I know you are right.

It's a silly thing.

Yet I felt compelled to downvote, that's how ingrained it is.

Soz.

Nah, if you offered me a defeat at Norwich with a guaranteed promotion I'd take it over the opposite, every day of the week.

On the OPs proposition, even being a 'happy clapper' I'm not sure this would be enough.

We were all able to accept not beating them in the year we finished 2nd, frustrating as it was. Trading that for two solid wins 'aint enough.

I can't see us getting relegated.

I agree with the majority of others who would take promotion over beating Norwich.

However, I don't think we'll finish in the top 2 now, and I certainly don't think we'll finish there if we assume a loss against Norwich.

I don't think we'll be favourites for the Norwich game. Our away form has been mid table all season, and their form has been astonishing since Clement took over. They have a few injury concerns, but I am less than expectant about the outcome. Always optimistic, but not expectant.

You can certainly slice and dice the stats, and point out that their position in the form tables is largely based on their amazing away record - their last 6 home games have yielded 3 wins and 3 losses. They are 9th in the home form table, and we are 8th in the away form table. But truthfully, they are on the up, and we are a little inconsistent let's say...
