I'm going to guess that O'Neil earns enough to afford another house in Suffolk.
If it all goes wrong, he can rent it out to whoever comes in next.

Poll: If we were to spend £200m would you rather

It was another of McKennas’ way of getting a feeling for the Club, the fact that he lived in the Town itself, he felt it, saw the everyday issues that we all have, from the bridge going down, the potholes, the decline of the town Center, to the good stuff, his lads local footy team, the parks, his dog sitter, whatever, he lived it with us as Bobby and Alf did. Is it right that Ashton lives next door. I know the houses, very nice, but still right in Town. O’Neil may have been told by Ashton it’d be a good thing to do?

He seemed to slightly sidestep committing to that when given the chance by stu in the presser.

I hope he does move the family.

Like the poster above, I thought it was great that KM lived in the centre of town.

As a soon to be Beckenham resident if I see him I’ll be sure to make it clear what a lovely place to live Suffolk is. I saw Alex Neil outside the station the day after we got promoted and it took all my strength (and a little advice from Mrs Bariotne) not to rub it in his face.

Indeed, everyone knows they shared the same bed, in the same house, like Burt and Ernie.

There's not a chance he'll move his family here, which is a big red flag. You can't fake the community connection when you're *in* it e.g. Robson, McKenna, Burley etc.

O'Neil's family are Bromley-based and have been throughout his playing and managerial careers.

Fcuking hell PK. We know you don’t want him here, we get that. You don’t have to pick him apart at every opportunity though.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

That was my feeling as well a little. And on one hand I can understand him not wanting to uproot family. But on other...

Of course, we have had a Bromley based manager fairly recently...😬😁

I wouldn't blame his family for not wanting to move to Suffolk from London. I'd imagine it's a fairly solitary existence when your husband is going to be away almost 24/7 once the season kicks off.

DOWN from London?! Surely you go UP to Ippo from London?

Solitary? Where are they going to live...middle of a field.
What do you think Suffolk is like?

His family didn't move to Wolverhampton or France either did they? He's got 3 children in school, his son is in the academy at Wimbledon, it's not always as easy as just uprooting your family, especially in such a fickle industry where he's at his 4th club in 3 or 4 years.

He'll probably spend 4 or 5 nights a week in Ipswich during the season, heading home on a Saturday evening until Monday AM. The drive isn't too bad anyway, I used to do a similar one regularly. Ipswich is a damn sight closer to Bromley than Strasbourg or Wolverhampton are.

Nope. The railways established, long ago, that towards-London is UP. So towards-Ipswich (from London) is DOWN.

I think if you go up 80 miles from London you're technically in outer space.

He is staying at the PentaHotel now known as B+B Hotels. Def info. ITK.

Saw him eating his way through the breakfast buffet, went back for seconds and an extra orange juice which was surprising as he looked more like an apple juice guy.

I kind of agree. I think we all would prefer to live in Ipswich and absorb himself in the community, but it is such a high risk job being in football management, I think it can be understood, why he might not want to do that. I mean Mckenna was what 7th longest manager when he left at 5 years?

He is probably used to being away, and on the plus side he can fully focus on his job when he is down here. So there are definitely pro's and con's.
