There are several credible internet rumours doing the rounds that it will be "this Friday, the Friday before the holidays and a week after etc." My guess is that people are making assumptions and trying to piece together stuff from various places. Teachers are definitely going to be taken out of the firing line eventually, but my boss was very unimpressed with the government minister who briefed several heads over video conferencing Friday. Essentially the inference is that Boris is trying to hold on to until the last minute (I guess that's how you lose track of how many kids you have in your charge) and keep the economy going for as long as possible. It seems people are taking it upon themselves to stay indoors as much as they can anyway, so that may force his hand. Today was bloody sh1t though, people are scared.
