Paul Cook resigns from Wigan 10:58 - Aug 1 with 1478 viewstractordownsouth

Linked with Bristol City but Hughton is said to be the favourite there. If Hughton does get that job, surely Cook should be on Evans' list of potential Lambert replacements?

Cook will have had two jobs before Lambert leaves here.

I presume Cook left because he wants a Championship gig, but right now we should be contacting him to see if he was interested.

Last time I checked, we had a manager under contract.

Yes, but if we found out he was keen it would be a very quick switch. Lambert was in the stands weeks before Hurst was given the boot.

Exactly, that point seems to be forgotten and PL only signed a new 5 year contract, 8 months ago. Things aren't going to change for a while yet.

True and Marcus has form for giving his managers every chance to get it right . I cant see that changing as their is always expense in changing managers and no certainty that it would improve things .

No chance he'll end up here.
- Stock has risen a lot for the job he's done at Wigan, not going to undo that by dropping into league one again.
- Lambert is under a long term contract, so a list for his replacement likely does not exist.

Cook will likely end up at Burnley, if/ when Dyche leaves which is apparently a possibility this summer.

Well there is a bloke with a managerial V-neck jumper and a contract. I’ll give you that.
