I appreciate that the (restarted) season has only just finished for them and the football is only a job so players are due time off etc. However, with not long to go until next season starts and with the ever changing quarantine rules, would you have thought that Man Utd would have put some ground rules in place to protect their reduced pre season?

All aside from the point that he shouldn't have punched the plod (allegedly)

Good job he didn't try to headbutt him, would have missed completely!

They are starting later than other clubs anyway, so they will still get the same amount of pre-season time.

Understand that but what if there is suddenly a quarantine imposed for where he is. That is then 14 days without proper training/friendlies.

If it were a business I would have this as a risk so why not for a football team

Liverpool, currently training in Austria, have had a quarantine exemption approved for when they return, presumably due to being tested regularly anyway. Assume other clubs/players could successfully make the same claim.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Aren't they all together as a 'bubble' though and not out on the lash with hundreds of others?

Yes, and of course Harry Kane is missing some of his pre-season to self-isolate, but if it came to the point where it was going to present a real problem in terms of preparation, I think clubs would flex their muscles a little.

Yep, tend to agree - seems needlessly risky - Harry Kane as an example is currently in quarantine.

Losing players for potentially 14 days is a massive risk, and surprised clubs are allowing it

Kane was one of those caught by the very short notice of change in UK requirements - it was fine when he went to the Bahamas, but by the time he left he was required to quarantine. I suspect he has been training pretty hard in his home gym anyway...

But it can't be any surprise that countries are going to come in and out of the quarantine list, I don't think anyone travelling can use that as an excuse.....

WHilst he is an uber professional, and no doubt is training hard, him not being in isn't ideal for Mourinho and Spurs - otherwise all players would just train at home

He should know better. Whether he likes it or not, he is a role model and should act as one. Typical Brit abroad unfortunately.
