Has been given time off by Lambert to get his head straight.

Poll: How many points from 18 would Lambert need to have to actually be sacked?

Doesn't sound good.

I think that is a good decision, don't think he will get his move this summer. I think a bit of time to reset is a good decision in this instance by Lambert.

So he won't be cup tied for Palace then, hmmmmmm

RIP Sir Bobby

No point playing him, he's fit enough for the league game v Wigan and if he is going to get a move he needs to stay fit.

Guess best to announce now than when teamsheets come out

Explains why he’s staying in the Novotel spending some time away from football with his missus. I don’t expect him to be the type of player to try and force a move away if Palace don’t pay what we value him at.

Indeed, looks as though valuations are some way apart right now. A gap that would need one side to make significant changes, I can't see it happening.

If he is staying here for at least another year, will be good for him just to have a bit of time off.

You sure?

The submission of a transfer request would suggest that there's definitely an element of 'forcing a move' from his side.

He was walking onto Cardinal Park last night with his missus so explains that.

Important to remember as a young lad, just taken on a new agent, think he could be being guided by their influence and instruction right now.

He doesn't seem to be the type of the lad who is desperate to rock the boat, but the lure of Premier League is going to be difficult one to turn down.

Usual story with transfers - depends how it is being handled from both sides as to how he reacts

That is also true, am I right in saying he has had a direct conversation with Evans regarding this. He has to understand that an initial £1m bid, only raised to £1.6m is still well below the valuation we have as club of him.

He has to be able to respect that.

I don’t know for sure, just going on my opinion on him.

I think there’s a big difference with asking for a chance to play in the Premier League whilst we’re an ever sinking ship in League One or demanding to leave for no apparent reason.

He stuck with us last season and is clearly too good for this division, has been at Ipswich all of his playing career, so he is always going to have respect for the club. Again, I might be wrong, but I just can’t imagine him acting like a diva and throwing his toys around.

Indeed, miles apart. And I think the view of the player is very different between the two. From what I gather, they see him as one to take a chance on, worth risking a couple of million or so, but probably not one they'll push the boat out for fee-wise. We'd need the boat pushed out further than I think they'd be willing to.

This is a surprisingly decent thing for a manager who doesn't get on with his mutinous squad to do.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

If he goes to Palace - and I'm erring towards thinking it won't happen - I'm pretty confident whether he is available for the Carabao Cup won't really be an issue one way or the other.

He young-ish, sure, but I get the sense that he is somewhat weak mentally.

Didn’t he need to see a specialist earlier in his career to deal with anger issues?
